EMA PRADÈRE
This portrait of Ema Pradère is the first of many. The painter and ceramist has built up a war-
drobe filled with LEMAIRE pieces acquired over the years. In this video, she opens up about
the effect of time on the clothes.
She pulls a thread between a jumper and the kintsugi technique, the Japanese art of repair-
ing broken ceramics with a blend of lacquer and gold, silver or platinum. « The break is not concealed. It is quite the opposite. Since we are embellishing its fracture, it is a way of expres-
sing how important the object is to us. »
